Ode to the Physics Exam

I consider myself
A studious one
But major in physics, what have I done?

I got to class
I found my seat
Grades and fate were about to meet.

I listen in class
I write my notes
Next day I don't know what I wrote.

I study all night
I sleep all day
What keeps getting me in my way?

My group is here
The homework's long
We don’t know what is going on.

The lecturer's bored
My notes are wrong
Our heads have leaked and our minds are gone.

I can't escape
The gravity well
That is my grade--the tolling bell.

The test is here
My name I've signed
One equation left in my mind…
