AAS Meeting, San Diego - Jan. 2005

The Departure

Unfortunately, after a week in San Diego, we all had to go back home.  (Now instead of an engine we have the omnipresent wing.)

A beautiful peninsula out there...uh...somewhere....

Bridge!  Boats!  Harbor!  What more could one ask for?

This is what I'm talkin' about.  Oh, yeah!  Definitely the coolest part of the return trip (and I hadn't really left San Diego yet).

Some reddish desert-ish rock and cliffs....  See all the white stuff on the horizon and toward the upper right?  Those are the Rockies.  Never really seen the Rockies before.

More snow-covered mountains.  I like snow-covered mountains.  It looked cooler from the plane.  Really.

There aren't any more interesting pictures from the return trip because the only exciting part of O'Hare was the row of enormous snowplows.
