building. In direct correlation with the size of the roaches (see Fig. 1), we show that one is
more likely to stumble across a live and kicking member of this species on the upper floors of the
building as opposed to the lower floors. This shows that the cockroaches on the top floors have a higher
survival rate than their counterparts on the lower floors. This is probably why larger
roaches are found on the upper floors, as a higher survival rate would result in longer roach
lifespans. More study is needed to show whether this is due to more abundant food supplies,
less activity outside labs, or the lack of wussy girls.
